Disaster Recovery: DR to Azure
Disaster Recovery to Microsoft Azure is now available. This feature enables IT technicians to configure Microsoft Azure as a recovery site using their end-customer’s Azure subscription and fail over workloads directly to the Azure cloud in the event of an outage at the primary location.
Key Benefits:
With the addition of Microsoft Azure as a new DR destination, partners can now offer Acronis Disaster Recovery to a wider range of customer segments. End customers can now use their own Microsoft Azure subscription as the destination for their DR site:
-
Acronis Cloud: Delivers out-of-the-box infrastructure with a high level of automation.
-
Microsoft Azure: Offers enterprise-grade infrastructure and customizable solutions — ideal for mid-sized customers with complex technical requirements.
Microsoft Partners can also take advantage of existing Microsoft contracts to boost Azure consumption. Additionally, Partners who already operate their own hosted storage can now offer DR to Azure without investing in on-premises DR infrastructure. DR to Azure can also be enabled using existing backups stored in Acronis Cloud.
Features highlights:
-
-
Failover from existing backups stored in Azure, Acronis Cloud, or partner-hosted storage
-
Wizard-driven DR site configuration in Azure directly from the Acronis console
-
Support for physical and virtual workloads, including Windows desktops
-
On-demand DR agents (temporary workers), with no need for permanent virtual appliances
-
Cold DR mode – cost-effective recovery with minimal Azure infrastructure usage.
- Warm DR mode - with near-zero RTO is coming in future releases.
-
Automated test failover with AI-powered screenshot verification
-
Automated failback to both physical and virtual machines, with near-zero downtime
-
Support most popular Linux operating systems without requiring additional manual fixes
-
Runbooks to automate key disaster recovery scenarios

Advanced Security + XDR: Acronis EDR with Microsoft Defender Antivirus
Prior to this new feature, Acronis EDR was not integrated with Microsoft Defender AV when both solution are running on the same workload. Both products produced its own detections with Partners having to manage both independently and ensure they do not conflict with each other. With this release, Acronis EDR enhances and complements Microsoft Defender AV by providing centralized visibility, advanced threat protection, and simplified management—delivered through a single, integrated platform. This capability extends across all Microsoft license tiers, including those offering only foundational security, ensuring consistent protection and control regardless of licensing level.
Key Benefits:
-
Strengthen endpoint protection and manage workloads centrally, even when using basic Microsoft security features
-
Gain deeper insight into Microsoft Defender AV detections through seamless integration with Acronis EDR
-
Streamline policy management by configuring Defender settings directly via Acronis protection plans
Implementation notes:
- Detections made by Microsoft Defender will generate EDR incidents.
- Quarantine actions are done by Microsoft Defender. In addition, Acronis EDR will provide actions such as restore from backup, network isolation, forensic backup, and patch management.
- The XDR graph is not available for incidents triggered by Microsoft Defender Antivirus.
- If Microsoft Defender Antivirus is enabled to provide real-time antivirus & antimalware protection, Acronis' Real-time protection is disabled.

Antivirus & Antimalware protection: Global exclusions at partner level
Partners can now add exclusion entries to all customer workloads under a partner, without manually editing individual protection plans for each customer tenant.
Exclusions can be further customized for each individual customer tenant, by adding exclusions to customer-level protection plans.
Global Antivirus & Antimalware exclusions help Acronis partners achieve:
- Operational efficiency – save time and reduce human errors by applying the same exclusions policy across all customers.
- Faster responses to false positives.
- Simplified policy management at scale.

Antivirus & Antimalware protection: Enhanced malware detection with Intel Core Ultra
Workloads with Intel Core Ultra processors will leverage stronger protection against sophisticated malware and zero-day attacks.
- Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) is utilized to analyze complex behavioral patterns and detect malicious behavior.
- Optimized performance and reduced strain on the CPUs of protected devices: Intel's Threat Detection Technology (TDT) is utilized to offload computationally intensive tasks to Intel's Neural Processing Unit (NPU).

Backup: View immutable storage occupied by deleted archives
The immutable storage occupied by deleted archives is shown in usage reports and in the UI. Partners can gain visibility about the storage that is used when immutable storage is turned on by either browsing the backup storage or in usage reports.

Backup: Avoid double backup of SharePoint sites and Group mailboxes
In the past, if you had a group that is a member of a team, that team has the SharePoint site in it and group mailboxes, and channels, and other bits of data. So, if you are protecting the team, and you are also protecting the group, that can lead to double and triple backups of the site in the group mailbox.
Now, the UI displays clear indication of the team to which a group belongs. Also, a warning will inform the administrator if they try to apply a protection plan to an already protected group. In addition, the group details now indicates the protection status of the group.
Key benefits:
- Reduced costs for those with Per Gigabyte billing.
- A cleaner UX, with less data shown under Groups.
- Reduced overall Microsoft 365 backup time due to less data and fewer API throttling incidents.

Acronis RMM: Copilot for software package deploymentAI
Using Copilot for software package deployments brings significant efficiency gains as it automates entirely the process of uploading custom packages within software repositories:
- Faster deployment: Leverage AI-driven automation to generate package details and installation / uninstallation commands, leading to faster software rollouts.
- Control and flexibility: Enable/Disable Copilot assistance and revert changes effortlessly, at any time, to meet unique MSP needs.
- Quick onboarding: Upload a new software package for a client and Copilot instantly suggests metadata (such as software name, version, and vendor) and silent install and uninstall commands. The package is then one click away from deployment.
- Complex deployments simplified: When deploying a package with tricky uninstall requirements, Copilot recommends tailored uninstall arguments and exit codes, avoiding trial-and-error.

Acronis RMM: Patch deployment scoringAI
The patch deployment scoring is an AI powered feature which allows for informed decision making by assessing the patch reliability thereby reducing deployment risks and downtime.
- Preventing downtime from faulty patches: Evaluate patch stability with clear categories, helping partners avoid risky updates
- Informed decision-making: Leverage AI-powered insights to assess patch reliability, reducing deployment risks and downtime.
- Enhanced efficiency: Automatically identify problematic patches without manual research and testing, saving time and resources.
- Proactive support: Proactively address potential problems with patches that may introduce compatibility issues, before they impact the organization.
- Pre-deployment validation: Before rolling out a new Windows or 3rd party application update across endpoints, verify the Stability status in the Patches screen, together with the detailed insights. Then take an informed decision what to do next: delay deployment, test thoroughly, or install the patch immediately.
- Rapid response to emerging issues: A patch initially marked as "Stable" shifts to "Caution" after periodic rescans reveal forum posts about performance slowdowns, so deployment plans are adjusted proactively to minimize the impact on clients.

Cyber Cloud Integrations: Workflow automation (EAP)
The workflow automation is now available as part of the Early Access Program (EAP). The workflow automation aims at increased efficiency and productivity, reduced chances of human error while improving accuracy, and enhanced employee satisfaction.
- Alert noise reduction: Clients gain greater control over how alerts are triggered and delivered, while filtering out unnecessary notifications and focusing on those of higher priority.
- Automation of standard procedures: The defined workflow is triggered by an Acronis platform event and performs a set of predefined actions. Typical examples of usage are EDR/XDR automated response actions, RMM Patch Management automation or support ticket processing in Advanced Automation (PSA).
