Backup and recovery: Changes in the Startup Rеcovery Manager
This update introduces changes to the Startup Recovery Manager, which interferes with BitLocker if both BitLocker and Startup Recovery Manager are enabled on a protected Windows machine. When restarting the machine after an agent update (both manual or automated), the BitLocker recovery key is required.
To avoid the need of entering the BitLocker security key on protected workloads, suspend or disable BitLocker before updating the agent. After the update, enable BitLocker again. See product documentation.
Backup and recovery: Email archiving for Microsoft 365
Email archiving provides instant visibility into all sent and received emails, supporting legal hold requirements and data retrieval for clients in all industries, including the highly regulated ones. With Acronis email archiving, partners can consolidate their services for Microsoft 365, facilitating the regulatory compliance and simplifying the e-discovery process for their clients, thus unlocking additional revenue.
With email archiving enabled, partner and customer administrators can perform the following key operations:
- Protect historical email data and continuously archive new incoming or outgoing emails.
- Search, preview, and recover emails directly from the archive.
Licensing
- Available in both Per gigabyte and Per workload models.
- Unlimited Acronis-hosted cloud storage for the per-seat license.
- Acronis-hosted cloud storage + Partner-hosted cloud storage support
- Per-seat licensing for all Microsoft 365 active users with a mailbox.
- No billing for Shared mailboxes and Group mailboxes.
Backup and recovery: WinRE for restore with reboot
The use of a WinRE-based pre-boot environment enables administrators to perform remote recovery with reboot on modern hardware that is not recognized by the traditional Linux-based pre-boot environments. If the default WinRE recovery environment cannot start, the recovery operation will automatically switch to the Linux environment. If an administrator explicitly sets the recovery environment either to WinRE or Linux, only the selected environment will be used.

Advanced Security + XDR: Fortinet integration
The integration with Fortinet allows the incorporation of telemetry from network security solutions into Acronis XDR for a comprehensive, unified view of threats. This facilitates faster, more effective remediation and response actions across the network, improving customer protection.
The new integration enables partners to:
- Enrich EDR incident data with the URL reputation and propose a response action that will block the URL.
- Enrich EDR incident data with the IP address reputation and propose a response action that will block the address.
- Isolate the device from the network on the Fortinet Firewall level. This covers scenarios when:
- The device is running under Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- The device is turned off.

Acronis PSA (Advanced Automation): Recurring tickets
The use of recurring tickets enables technicians to plan and execute repetitive tasks efficiently by defining a recurring schedule for the creation of service desk tickets. This eliminates the need to manually register these tasks and increases productivity while reducing the change of missing important tasks due to human errors.
For example, MSP technicians and sales people can:
- Schedule a weekly task to review incident reports and provide status updates.
- Schedule an annual task to process a domain and SSL certificate renewal.
- Schedule annual IT training sessions for customers.
The recurring tickets configuraiton provides flexible scheduling with daily, weekly, monthly, or annual options, and a variety of ticket creation options:
- Once a previous ticket is closed.
- A set number of days before the scheduled date.
- All tickets at once.

Changes in Acronis Cyber Cloud API
Upcoming end of support for /api/ams REST API
The /api/ams/ REST API, which is used for backup and resource management, will be deprecated and replaced by a new API. The new API will accommodate all integrations and automation scenarios that currently use /api/ams/.
The /api/ams/ REST API is not an official and public API. However, some customers are using it for integration and automation tasks. To ensure smooth transition, the deprecation will be done in phases, with one year of notice for each phase.
We officially announced the beginning of the one year notice period for Phase 1 in May, 2024. Documentation on how to migrate to the new public REST API is provided in the API change log document.
One year after the official announcement of deprecation, there will be no commitment to support the /api/ams/ endpoints, even though they might still be available.
You can find more information and the history of changes in Acronis Cyber Cloud API in the API change log document.
