What's new

Enhanced user experience for managing exclusions within protection plans

Simplifies the configuration of Antivirus, Antimalware, and URL filtering exclusions when managing protection plans. The exclusions functionality is now more intuitive and easier to use:

  • Exclusions for Antivirus, Antimalware, and URL filtering policies are now defined in a single place.
  • Exclusions support network folder paths and wildcards (* and ?) for all security engines.

Licensing

Available in Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud standard license.

"All updates" option when managing patches for third-party products

Improves the patch management for Windows third-party products.

  • Streamlined patch management: Simplifies the update deployment process by installing all available updates, ensuring that no critical updates are missed.
  • Comprehensive patching: Ensures there are no limitations on versions when managing applications.
  • Enhanced security: By deploying the latest patch, whether minor or major, systems are always updated and secured against cyber attacks.

Licensing

Advanced Management pack required.

Prevent failover to a non-quiesced VM snapshot

Improves the management of agentless VM backups on VMware and Hyper-V, ensuring predictable backup data consistency.

For mission-critical applications, it is important that despite random occasional VSS failures, the backup does not failover to non-VSS (aka "non-quiesced") VM snapshots, which could result in backups with unknown or unpredictable data consistency inside. This new functionality prevents non-application-consistent VM snapshots from being used as a data source for backups. If a quiesced snapshot fails for a VM after all attempts set under Backup Options > Error Handling, the backup will fail instead of automatically failing over to a non-quiesced snapshot.

Licensing

Available in Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud standard license.

Known issues and limitations

Backup

  • [ABR-375627] Cloud-to-cloud backups of mailboxes and OneDrive instances fail with the backup agent error "Could not save BackupStatus: [Archive Server]: "
  • [ABR-365442] The backup validation completes successfully, but the validation status is incorrect or missing in backup sets with a large number of backups.
  • [ABR-361097] It is possible to create backups with special characters in their names, but such backups are not accessible when saved on a network storage.
Solution: Do not use special characters in backup names, even though the application allows you to.
  • [ARC-525] Cloud-to-Cloud backups of Microsoft 365 objects may fail with "[Archive Server]: net/http: request canceled (Client.Timeout exceeded while awaiting headers)" or "Failed to read data from the backup. "msg": "failed to unmarshal collection data: invalid json: '': unexpected end of JSON input"" errors in rare cases.

Recovery

  • [ABR-370018] Recovery tasks of OneDrive remain stuck at a certain percentage progress for a very long time.
  • [ABR-367677] Recovery tasks of OneDrive are processing very slowly.
    Solution: See https://kb.acronis.com/content/72506.
