With this update, the Acronis flagship cloud product offers enhancements and addresses the issues found in the previous releases.
What's new
Management portal
- Audit logging in the management portal
Operations performed by users in the management portal are now tracked and logged. The audit log is available to administrators in the management portal. - cPanel and Plesk integration support
Respective items were added to the Integrations page of the management portal. - Security enhancements
- Idle and absolute session timeout (Application Security Verification Standard req. 3.3)
- Session becomes invalid after log out (Application Security Verification Standard req. 3.17)
- Session becomes invalid on password change (Application Security Verification Standard req. 3.18)
Backup service
- VMware vSphere 6.7 support
- Better virtual machines backup
Schedule backups effectively on the agent level. Set the limit for the total number of virtual machines per agent for VMware or Hyper-V. Unlike the similar setting in backup plan options, this parameter allows processing simultaneously only the required amount of VMs for all backup plans without exceeding the limit. - CBT for Hyper-V on CSV
Support for Changed Block Tracking (CBT) for virtual machines hosted on Cluster Shared Volumes (CSV) volumes.
File Sync & Share service
ConnectWise Manage integration
- New integration with Files Sync & Share service and Disaster Recovery service.
- Enhanced user interface.
- Simplified billing configuration and the “free provisioning” option in the billing settings.
- Support for more than 10,000 accounts per partner.
- Auto-closing of tickets and support for their sub-types.

Backup plugin for WHM and cPanel
- Recovery of individual accounts
- Update the plugin from the WHM user interface
WHM dashboard notifies the user when a new plugin version is available. To update to a new version, click Update now. - Simplified Acronis Backup plugin installation and configuration
- The plugin is now shipped in form of .rpm package.
- Improved UX for the initial configuration wizard in WHM UI, including:
- UI improvements
- Progress tracking
- Error reporting
- Stability and performance improvements
Multiple stability and performance optimizations for files and database recovery. - Improved logging and errors reporting
- More logs are available.
- Improved error messages shown in UI.
- Detailed error messages for failed recovery tasks are shown in the operations log.
- A new option to collect logs from WHM UI (both the operations log and dashboard). All necessary logs are collected in a single archive that can be downloaded from UI.

Fixed issues
This section describes issues that have been fixed in this update.
Management portal
- [ABR-173228] An email with the operational report is not received if Brazilian Portuguese language is selected for the tenant.
- [ABR-169358] Language change affects the dashboard widgets names only after a page refresh.
- [ABR-168266] An error "Reporting service is not available" appears while trying to generate a report as an upper-level administrator in a tenant where the "Allow administrators from parent tenants to manage this tenant" option is not enabled.
- [ABR-166476] Different storage usage numbers in the management portal and Web Recovery Console may appear due to a short database disconnect.
- [ABR-164428] Random cloud storage is selected when a tenant is created without the exact storage specification via API.
- [ABR-162017] Disabled users may still be receiving monthly usage reports.
Backup service
- [ABR-174179] Typo in text, when deploying cloud-to-cloud backup agent for Microsoft Office 365.
- [ABR-174124] Registration of agent with token sometimes fails with HTTP 500 error.
- [ABR-166483] Cloud-to-cloud backup agent for Microsoft Office 365 may not start the backup on schedule in certain circumstances.
- [ABR-174095] Microsoft Office 365 backup may fail with error "Can't connect to the mailbox of user Mailbox database guid" while it is done in hybrid environment.
- [ABR-164327] Incorrect count of Microsoft Office 365 mailboxes on the Overview page.
- [ABR-168657] Facebook backup sometimes fails with the "Unsatisfied rules: events" error.
- [ABR-172572] An error message "The item essence is incorrect. The metadata in the file archive may be corrupted" is shown after failing to rename a temporary meta file on the storage side.
- [ABR-171948] Local backups are not allowed in backup console, yet enabled in the management portal (depends on customer's environment specifics).
- [ABR-171884] Backup console leads to default Web Restore URL instead of customized one.
- [ABR-171954] It is impossible to perform a recovery from older recovery points after update of agent from version 6.1 to 7.7 if the Version 12 backup format was chosen in the backup options.
- [ABR-170140] Microsoft OneDrive folder backup may fail with "The file is read-only" error on Microsoft Windows 10.0.17134.
- [ABR-168246] "HTTP Error 500: Internal Server Error" message appears when user clicks Settings to see the agents list within a disabled tenant.
- [ABR-174182] SnapAPI is not compiled after update to 7.7 agent for Linux.
Disaster Recovery service
- [ABR-170345] "Cloud servers" offering item usage displayed in management portal is incorrect.
- [ABR-172836] Disaster Recovery "Quota exceeded" notifications are not sent.

File Sync & Share service
- [ASRV-6669] Privacy Statement is now correctly shown for Users created via API after their first login on File Sync & Share portal.
- [ASRV-6530] Members of shares now see the names of the Users who made file changes in the notification emails if they have “Can view members” permissions.
- [ASRV-6561] Help links in the Desktop Client now properly redirect to the latest version of the documentation.
- [ASRV-5871] No longer showing error messages if a tenant has no storage added yet.
ConnectWise Manage integration
- The "Priority" and "Status" fields are not disabled in Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer if the ticket type is "None".
- Not all the products are available in the drop-down lists on the "Billing and provisioning" tab.
- Quota update events may be generated even if tenant quotas have not been changed.
- A customer tenant is duplicated in the management portal if this tenant was mapped to the ConnectWise company via the partner's "Integration" tab but has been unmapped via the customer's "Integration" tab.
Autotask PSA integration
- Invalid titles in the tickets.
- Local backup quota is not set as unlimited.
Backup plugin for WHM and cPanel
- [CI-2728, CI-2961, CI-2962, CI-2987, CI-2995, CI-2966] Security fixes.
- [CI-2817] Support disabling exec php function.
- [CI-3084] Plugin fails when short_open_tag directive is disabled in php.ini.
- [CI-2826] Customer column is empty in WHM Operation log for non-root users.
- [CI-2742] "Notice: Undefined index..." warnings are shown in error log on the browsing recovery point page.
Known issues and limitations
This section describes issues that are currently known and provides solutions to avoid the issues where possible.
Management portal
- [ABR-174636] User-related events are displayed for a tenant where the "Allow administrators from parent tenants to manage this tenant" option is not enabled.
- [ABR-138058] Backup notifications stop sending after de-provisioning and provisioning of the "Backup & Disaster Recovery" role to a user.
- [ABR-136386] There is a redirect to a branded URL after clicking Manage accounts when an administrator came from non-branded URL.
- [ABR-137496] It is possible to configure incomplete settings in Branding > Email server settings.
- [ABR-132669] Enabling the File Sync & Share service for a customer tenant enables the service for all Company administrators with the same email address.
- [ABR-137822] Manage service on Overview does not redirect to the branded File Sync & Share address.
- [ABR-137174] The Overview page layout looks garbled for a screen resolution of 1024 pixels (width) or less.
- [ABR-137481] Email notification that quota is almost exceeded is not sent.
- [ABR-137456] It is possible to create a tenant with only spaces in the name.
- [ABR-136810] No clear error is shown if a destination tenant was not found while moving a tenant.
- [ABR-136694] The "Bad request" message appears if a large number is specified as the Storage quota.
- [ABR-133543] The "Report will not be send. No data available for the specified period" error is shown when the user selects report that can be received.
- [ABR-133312] User still can be created via UI when the File Sync & Share users quota is exceeded.
- [ABR-137537] Turning off administrator role for a user does not turn off all notification settings.

- [ABR-177739] Local space usage may be calculated incorrectly if capital letters are used in destination network share machine name.
- [ABR-164336] Local space usage may be calculated incorrectly for Hyper-V clustered virtual machines.
- [ABR-104081] Replication plan for VM from one ESX host to another ESX host fails while the "Error handling" option is enabled.
- [ABR-121308] The "Upon time since last backup" schedule does not work.
- [ABR-133896] Personal location is not deleted from the backup console when a user is deleted.
- [ABR-133758] Instance of agent was not changed if an agent is re-assigned to another account.
- [ABR-141823] Incorrect backup items in a backup plan after updating Mac OS X to 10.13 High Sierra with conversion from HFS+ to APFS (some backup items are missing).
- [ABR-158679] Incorrect number of Total Runs/Number of successful runs for a Hyper-V cluster on the Operations tab.
- [ABR-85645] Backup of a virtual machine with Active Directory completes with warning "MFT bitmap is corrupted."
Disaster Recovery service
- [DRAAS-14803] No alert is sent when the quota is exceeded if the overage is set to "Unlimited".
- [DRAAS-13217] A point-to-site login name is not displayed on the VPN Settings page.
- [ABR-141254] A recovery server with CentOS 7 hangs at the startup after a failover.
- [DRAAS-14502] Impossible to delete backups after a failback if the last recovery point was deleted after the failover. Display error: Failed to convert string 'Unknown' to GUID.
- [DRAAS-14476] Alerts for Disaster Recovery quotas are not raised if overages are set to unlimited.
- [DRAAS-14245] Cloud server cannot obtain an IP address during a test and production failover if original machine has static IP address configured.
- [DRAAS-14241] VPN tunnel fails after the VPN Appliance network configuration is changed.
- [DRAAS-14230] Adding a Test IP address to a cloud server is not supported during a test failover.
- [ABR-161767] Backup file name of the protected server is incorrectly displayed in the Web Restore Console after a failover.
